What is the International Profile?
The International Profile is designed as a general overview of international programs and initiatives at the University of Minnesota (focused mainly on the Twin Cities campus).
How can my department use the International Profile?
Colleges, campuses, and departments are encouraged to create their own customized handout to insert in the International Profile. The International Profile is printed on 11x17 inch paper, folded down to an 8.5x11 inch “folder” in which additional sheets of letter-sized paper can be inserted.
What information should I include on the insert?
When choosing what information to include, keep in mind the various audiences you are targeting with this publication: international visitors, University and college administrators, prospective and current students, faculty, outreach, and more. Of course, you can create more than one insert or customize the insert based on the audience or the specific use. Here are a few ideas of information you could include:
- Faculty international experience and expertise
- International students & scholars (numbers, where they are from, what they are studying, history)
- Study abroad initiatives and statistics
- Faculty and student international exchange
- Alumni international involvement
- Highlight an area(s) or country where your unit has international experience.
- General information (non-international): enrollment, degrees granted, number of faculty, courses offered, initiatives
How do I get copies of the International Profile?
Small quantities are available from the Office of International Programs (612-624-5580). If you need a larger amount, you can use the pdf of the International Profile available on this page. You can send this file to a Copies on Campus location or any printer or simply print it out and photocopy it. The International Profile is printed on Classic Crest text in Baronial Ivory, available at all Copies on Campus locations. We recommend that you print your insert on a complementary color so it stands out from the Profile. Try to choose a color that will allow the insert to be photocopied.
