ASIAN TSUNAMI: When the devastating tsunami struck on Dec. 26, University staff immediately jumped into action, contacting students studying in the area and offering assistance to international students and their families who may have been affected. Fortunately, no international or study abroad students were found to be in the affected areas when the tsunami struck, according to the Learning Abroad Center and International Student and Scholar Services.
