International Education Week

International Education Week 2007 is November 12-16. University of Minnesota departments, campuses, and student groups are encouraged to plan events to highlight the University's support of international education.

International education enlarges our perspective, as individuals and as a nation. — Margaret Spellings, Secretary of Education

About IE Week

International Education Week was first declared by the U.S. Departments of State and Education in 2000 as part of their effort to encourage policies and programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the U.S.

In 2006, International Education Week at the University of Minnesota included more than 40 events, sponsored by a variety of colleges and offices. This year, colleges and offices are once again planning receptions, seminars, brown bag sessions, and other events to highlight the University's support of international education. The Office of International Programs has a leadership role in supporting and publicizing these events.
