While sponsored by the Office of International Programs, the Global Spotlight initiative is designed to engage the entire University community, including all five campuses, and the local community.
Incorporating the Themes into Events
University units and community organizations are encouraged to incorporate Global Spotlight themes into their events. Here are some ideas on how to do that:
- For an annual lecture or symposium, consider speakers who can address the themes of Africa and/or Water in the World.
- Identify faculty, staff, and students in your unit who are knowledgable about Africa or Water in the World and present a brown bag on the topic.
- If an existing event already incorporates the theme, simply include wording and logos in the invitation to identify it as a Global Spotlight event.
Promotion and Co-Sponsorship of Events
OIP is interested in promoting and possibly co-sponsoring these events.
- Add your event to the Events Calendar.
- Partner with OIP to co-sponsor an event.
Your help is needed to promote the Global Spotlight events too!
- Include information about the Global Spotlight initiative in your staff and department newsletters.
- Include wording and logos in the invitiation or program to identify the event as a Global Spotlight event.
