Purpose:
To internationalize the faculty, students, curriculum, research, and extension programs within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Sciences, and where appropriate, other collegiate units within the University.
Functions:
- Develops long-term programs of interest to the faculty that relate to their on-going programs
- Forms coalitions with organizations that need universities to handle their training, education, procurement, and technical assistance needs
- Administers collaborative projects funded through development agencies
- Plans and implements long-term degree and short-term training programs
- Develops formal exchange agreements with universities abroad for the purpose of faculty, student, and research exchanges
- Builds partnerships with the private sector to conduct international programs that will benefit agriculture and businesses in Minnesota
Services:
- Project proposal development and administration of multi-disciplinary projects
- Coordination of professional development and short-term training programs
- Informational resource for faculty and students on international assignments, funding sources, agency contacts, international visitors, housing, international careers, seminars on international topics, etc.
- Travel resource for per diems, visas, passports, logistics, predeparture orientations, debriefing opportunities, expense reimbursements, trip reports, etc.
